These photos were taken in Times Square, just before sunset. In the first photo, I had to use fill flash to illuminate the fence and sign in the foreground because it was a backlit situation. My intention in this first photo was to capture the obvious metaphor. I in the second photo, I wanted to draw more attention to the rubble than to the city. I like these photos because they both have a semi-apocalyptic theme with restricted areas and rubble.
