When looking to take a photo some of the first things I look for is balance and symmetry. The trees on both sides create a near mirror image of each other. All the lines in the photo leads you to look towards the back of the image. It draws you in. The photo is slightly underexposed, which I think allows for more detail to be shown. Most of the image is in focus, you can even see the clouds on the right side.
